These photos tell a story. A story of love, of a Creator who is in the most minute details, of feeling deeply, of dreams come true.
When Katie contacted me about photographing her outdoor wedding outside of Fairplay, CO – I jumped at the opportunity. I mean really. Who gets the opportunity to capture a wedding that is set at the foot of Mount Sherman? I was psyched for this! But little did I know that the joy and emotion of this day would go far beyond the beauty of the creation around us. It dawned a cold, cloudy day, with snow flurries off and on. Katie and Carter are hard core and kept with the plan for an outdoor wedding after they got beautified and handsome-ified in their respective cabins.
After a five minute walk through the woods to the clearing where the ceremony was to take place, it was evident that Mount Sherman was nowhere to be found behind the clouds and fog, but we didn’t need that! The environment was so laid back, with tears and laughter and snowflakes, and God even made it thunder during the vows (goosebumps!). One of the groomsmen led worship and we sang, with mountains all around and the occasional thunderclap…
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything and I will adore You…”
